Ein Franzose kauft und renoviert einen Neptun 210

Beitrag von Florent » Mi 7. Okt 2020, 18:35

Hello,

My name is Florent, i'm french and and after many month of thinking i bought a old Neptun 210 (1969) last august because it was cheap and nice to look at.
And after 1 month of renovation by myself with my father and prospect for part and place to be, the boat is beautiful.

Now its a little complicated, the harbor master's office need registration and assurance, okay no problem i says.
But the registration's office (DMl in french) need CE certificate. Where i find this ?
And the assurance need expertise before because the boat is too old. Seriously an expertise is almost the price of the boat.

I dive into the paperwork everyday this week and its never ending. That is the past and actual part, now the fun part is, it's look awesome !

(Sorry for my English and German, photo to come)

Hallo,

Rolf

Bonsoir Florent,
je ne parle pas français. So I'll proceed in English. The CE Registration was introduced in June 1998 and used boats inside the EU that were in use before that date don't need a CE mark. The DMI should know that. What kind of insurance do you need? You don't need an appraisal for a liability insurance, that is requested only for comprehensive coverage in Germany. I don't know the French regulations.

Best regards
Thomas

Hello Florent,

have fun with the Neptun 210! I used to have one before (segelnummer 766) and loved it so much. I also had some registration difficulties (from Germany to Hungary) but the CE was no problem since the boat was produced before CE. I think this is derived from some EU regulation everywhere in the EU. I don't know how the insurance is in France, but here they are also reluctant to insure old boats.

Best regards,
